Last week, I shot a intimate wedding at the Auberge du Soleil in Napa, and one of my favorite things about the wedding was the blending of western and Korean culture. It’s one of those things that’s close to my own heart, and I loved that the bride not only had her fabulous white wedding dress, but she also wore a beautiful pink hanbok, a traditional Korean dress.
Seeing the hanbok brought back tons of memories of wearing a hanbok myself for New Year’s and other special occasions when my Mom would wrangle me into the dress. I didn’t realize it until much later what a big deal it was for my Mom to go out and find that perfect hanbok for me and how important it was for her to see me take part in that Korean tradition. It’s been at least a decade since I wore a hanbok, and when I started looking to see what was available out there, I was stunned by the gorgeous new wave of modern Korean hanboks.
After drooling over the hanbok I found on Hanbok Lynn, I’ve put together a little inspiration board for any brides out there thinking about wearing a hanbok on their wedding day. And I think it’s just pure gorgeous eye candy for everyone else. Seriously, aren’t these just stunning?
Have a fantastic weekend my friends!
